Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

The student leaders (core facilitators) Darby and I meet with every week

Merry Christmas!

Somehow yet another semester has flown by! God has moved in some special ways this semester and I wouldn’t have been able to be part of it without your generosity, so thank you. Thank you so much for reading my blog, praying, and partnering with me in campus ministry this semester.

Christmas Party

Before leaving for winter break, we have a fun tradition where all of Denton FOCUS celebrates Christmas together! This year, our party was a Christmas formal. Everyone enjoyed dressing up fancier than the usual sweatpants and hoodies, singing worship songs at a mini Christmas service, and doing trivia, crafts, and a dance party. Here are some photos of the night, most of which feature our lil homemade photo booth :)

Worship

As we approach Christmas, I have been reflecting on the moment featured in the photo above. At the end of our Christmas worship service, we sang a song called Revelation 19:1, based on the Scripture. It was a beautiful sight to witness a whole room of college students singing loudly, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory, honor and power, to the Lord our God!”

I am blessed to work in a ministry where I get to see Jesus bringing healing into the lives of college students and friends firsthand! I myself have been, and continue to be, a recipient of God’s good gifts. However, there are times hope may seem lost, when we know the world is not as it should be. My prayer is that you are thoroughly reminded that hope in Jesus is not in vain. Our God is truly wonderful and worthy of praise. He is changing hearts and lives, mending the broken-hearted, and giving hope to the hopeless. I pray my blog has been able to showcase how God is moving and encourage you! I’ll close with Hebrews 11:1: “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Prayer Requests

- Pray for the students as they are on break, that they would be rested and grow closer to Jesus in this time.
- Pray for our staff members to also be replenished by Jesus and expectant for how the Lord will continue to move next semester.
- Pray that the students say yes to attending Winter Retreat in January, and that the Lord would prepare their hearts for the experience!

Thank you for your generous support and making it possible to raise up this new generation of disciples. Your imitation of God’s faithfulness is bearing fruit! As always, please reach out if you have any prayer requests, questions or comments.

With love,
Cathryn
